Photography Safaris

A photography safari is a different discipline. It requires a guide who understands light and composition as well as wildlife, a vehicle with unobstructed views and beanbags, and the freedom to wait an hour for a subject to move into the right position.

We arrange vehicles with open sides, removed middle rows and camera supports, and we pair photographers with guides who have worked with professional wildlife photographers before. Game drive timings are built around golden hour rather than camp mealtimes, and we will happily leave a sighting to reach another in better light.

Kenya is outstanding for wildlife photography. The light at altitude is clean and hard, the plains are open and uncluttered, and the animals are habituated to vehicles. The Maasai Mara offers the highest density of photographic subjects; Amboseli offers the most dramatic backdrop; Laikipia offers the freedom to work a subject without an audience.
